Michelle Man

Michelle Man, is a painter and designer who enjoys leading workshops that explore the intersection of making art and practicing Mindfulness.

She has been recognized for her community-building, leadership and collaborations that emphasized self care and building social connections during the pandemic.

'My favourite aspect about the 'A More Mindful Hospital" project was working with a team of people close to my heart. Over the years, we have been able to draw on each others' strengths to co-create beautiful experiences, resources, and now spaces for building community, reflection and healing. I am in awe of how each carefully curated element (color, texture, poetry and calligraphy) came together to serve not only patients and the families that visit BC Children's Hospital (BCCH) but the people who work there.' - Michelle

Inspiration Behind the Moss Box Pieces
The Mindful Connector mural was created to provide a moment of peace and reflection for patients and visitors at BC Children's Hospital.  Using a gradient of moss tones, transitioning from deep greens to brighter hues, the piece symbolizes growth, renewal and mental clarity.  Inspired by the textures and harmony of the forest floor, this work bring the serenity of the outdoors into a healing indoor environment.

Mindful Walking

When you walk mindfully, you walk just to be present in each moment, without striving to get anywhere or do anything. Walking meditation is a great practice for when you don’t feel like sitting still.
