  • UBC Pediatric Grand Rounds

    • Topic: “Mindfulness for Parents and Caregivers: What Should Health Professionals Know?”
    • Sharing fun practices that can be used for ways to teach mindfulness through awareness, movement, games, play, and creative activities for all ages. Learning differences, cultural differences, developmental differences, and more all affect how children learn best, and this workshop explores ways to adapt mindfulness, rather than approach with a one-size fits all approach.

  • Release of Where You Are (part 1) podcast episode partnered with Kelty Mental Health Resource Centre:
    • Release date: Wednesday June 5, 2024 
    • Topic: “Mindfulness for all Kinds of Minds”
    • Learning differences, cultural differences, developmental differences, and more all affect how children learn best, and this conversation explores ways to adapt mindfulness, rather than approach with a one-size fits all approach. We will discuss tailoring techniques to a range of issues, including depression, anxiety, executive function challenges, trauma and stress. 
Dr. Chris Willard

Dr. Chris Willard is a Harvard Medical School Faculty, Author, Psychologist and Consultant. Dr. Willard has extensive experience working with individuals and families and specializes in the treatment of anxiety, depression and stress-related disorders. He has written several books on mindfulness and meditation including “Child’s Mind: Mindfulness Practices to Help Our Children Be More Focused, Calm, and Relaxed” and “Growing Up Mindful: Essential Practices to Help Children, Teens, and Families Find Balance, Clam, and Resilience.”
