The BCCH Centre for Mindfulness is delighted to share with you the wonderful news that our research paper has been published in the prestigious journal BMJ Open!
The paper is focused on online mindfulness groups for new parents in distressed families. You may find the layout of the paper a bit unusual - this is because it is a protocol paper. That means we are sharing the design of our innovative methods with the world, even before we actually have any data. In more poetic words, this paper is about the journey, not the destination.
The purpose of the publication is to offer researchers and clinicians inspiration and ready-to-use tools for collecting data about their online health intervention. Due to the pandemic, many teams have started offering their care in an online environment and are continuing this as we move towards a post-pandemic world. They may wonder how these new ways of offering healthcare work for their patients but lack data to understand it.
The most important purpose is to show how meaningful data can be collected for distressed populations using multiple methods in order to decrease the workload for patients and to be mindful of their energy, especially during difficult times of their lives.
